It is very important that children’s opinion be taken into consideration under all circumstances that may affect their life and development. The program “Child Participation” teaches children communication skills, team work and how to present their point of view.
They have the possibility to make their voice heard in society, to contribute to the creation of a social culture, which should take children’s opinion into account, to promote actions that facilitate children’s involvement in the decision-making process. The program is carried out in Bucharest and 14 branches.
Children’s action group is a consultative group made up of 32 children and youths. This group meets periodically in order to discuss and establish the agenda of the future activities.
Children’s Forum takes place every year during the Child’s Rights Week (1-6 June). It offers children the chance to meet Government and local authorities’ representatives and to express their opinion on how child rights are understood and respected. Almost 200 children and youths from Save the Children 15 branches meet annually at the “Children’s right to opinion and creativity” camp. It combines educational and recreational activities. This action is registered in the calendar of educational activities of Ministry of Education and Research.
