The Festival of Christmas Trees
The Festival of Christmas Trees is a truly magical event, organized every year to the benefit of Save the Children Romania. The event is centered on an auction of uniquely designed Christmas ‘tree’ creations, realized especially for this occasion by famous Romanian designers.
Over the past five years, the Festival of Trees has become one of the highlights of the winter social calendar, gathering significant representatives of the business, mass media, political and cultural communities, who are involved in supporting fundraising campaigns for children.
The Festival of Christmas Trees is supported by the diplomatic and business communities, convened in a Honorary Board presided by H.E. Mr. Svante Kilander, the Swedish Ambassador. Some of the personalities and companies involved in this project are: Mrs. Mihaela Geoana (President, Renasterea Foundation), Ms. Ileana Pescariu (Managing Partner Publicis Dialog), Mrs. Veronica Savanciuc (President Lowe & Partners, President IAA Romania), Mr. Pierre Poupard (UNICEF Representative), Mr. Patrick Gelin (President, CEO, BRD Groupe Societe Generale), Mrs. Rodica Moise (National Coordinator ILO-IPEC), Ms. Corina Barladeanu (General Manager2 Active PR), Henkel , BBDO Group Romania, Y&R.
Over the last five years, the Festival gathered aproximately 380.000 EUR, which were used for the projects developed by Save the Children Romania. The funds raised at the first two editions were used for purchasing books for school libraries - 45.727 volumes were thus donated to 105 school libraries all over the country. In 2003, the Honorary Board decided that the funds raised should be used for supporting the Educational Centers in Bucharest, Iasi and Craiova, for the school reintegration of working street children.

Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility
Save the Children Romania and The Swedish Embassy organized the Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility
This conference focused on "the development potential of Corporate Social Responsibility" and took place in Bucharest, at World Trade Center, on November 13th, 2007.
Three Swedish Companies (Accenture, Eon and SAS) actively involved in CSR in Sweden were invited to share practical experiences. The Ambassador Elisabeth Dalin introduced the topic in the context of International Trade Policy.
